Pull the audio out of any video in three clicks
A short guide to saving lectures and podcasts as MP3, M4A or WAV.

Recorded lectures, interviews and video podcasts are often easier to enjoy as audio. Video to audio saves the soundtrack so you can listen on a walk or in the car.
Three steps
- Open Video to audio and add your MP4, MOV, WEBM, AVI or MKV file.
- Pick a format. MP3 plays everywhere, M4A is smaller at the same quality, and WAV is uncompressed for editing.
- Select Extract audio and download the file.
Which bitrate should I pick?
For speech, 96–128 kbps is plenty. For music, choose 192 kbps or higher. If you plan to edit the audio, export WAV and compress it later.
Small files are processed in your browser. Very large videos can use the server version instead, and those files are deleted automatically after one hour.
